Playing Monopoly has always been a fun board game with friends. Recently Hasbro has recreated an old classic now with an all-seeing-eye tower planted in the middle of the board. This ten-inch tower rolls the dice for you, calculates rent, and announces player turns. You don’t even have to remember how much money you have because this thing will calculate that too.
This tower only knows so much because it covers the board in infrared light and the camera in the tower can see reflectors that are on the game pieces. Covering your game piece and blocking off the camera’s view to your piece will initiate each roll you make. Whoever designed this likely only ever lost at Monopoly from cheating and has some serious control issues. The disputes are literally eliminated from the game, but honestly that was one of the more fun parts about it. Not to mention that real life doesn’t have a giant tower telling us what’s fair and what’s not. The re-invented classic will go on sale this fall for $50.
