Myris – because unlocking your PC with an eye scan is just too cool for school

myris3

Tired of thinking up the most bizarre and difficult passwords to protect your data? There are, of course, a fair number of more secure alternatives like fingerprint scanners to give you an extra layer of security. However, if you’re really looking for the hack-proof method then an iris scanner could be your saviour.

The all new Myris by EyeLock is a new and very simple way of protecting your computer with a scan of your eyeball. You don’t have to worry about longer passwords or your fingerprints being lifted because this iris scanner gives you 1-in-2 trillion chance of being cracked level security. That’s way more than the population of earth, right?

This futuristic device connects to your PC via USB and comes with a dedicated app to set up. Once up and running, it will let up to 5 people create their different secure IDs. It will take a video of your eye and generate a unique encrypted code based on your iris. Every human has a different iris, so it can’t be hacked. The Myris by EyeLock will be available for shipping later this year and it will be under $300.
