NaNoWriMo – five apps and gadgets to get you through the month

stocksnap_v8a98c0u96

It’s November and I’m sure some of our readers are taking part in that time-honored tradition of National Novel Writing Month. Whether this is your first time or just the first time you’ve committed to conquering the 50K word goals, here are some apps and web sources to keep you on track and producing.

1. One Look Reverse Dictionary

The perfect word is right on the tip of your tongue but all you can think of are a bunch of words that aren’t quite it. You can use this website to find the word you’re looking for, even if you can only describe the concept of it.

2. The Most Dangerous Writing App

If you’re having trouble getting your words down, this app will force you to write or lose them all. Set the time and you’re off. Don’t let a block stop you, or else the site will delete everything you’ve put down.

3. Care.com

Don’t worry about the housework, that just eats up precious writing time. Use this service to find someone to do the dishes for you.

4. Clipper

This easy to use app will help you organize all the links you copy for inspiration. Save them, share them, and get back to work because that novel isn’t going to write itself.

5. Deskcycle

You’re going to be spending a lot of time sitting down. Don’t let your body suffer. Get the Deskcycle and stay active without sacrificing any of that precious word count.

Happy writing and good luck!
