Neuros Link Media PC – stream multimedia around and about

Neuroslink

The Neuros Link Media PC is an open source powered home entertainment computer which is designed to make you feel all geek superior to your Sony owning neighbours from Albania. For a start it’s completely hackable. The fact that the nearest you’ve ever got to hacking was the cough you had last October is neither here nor there. You *could* hack it if you wanted (possibly). And that’s the point.

Until then you can console yourself with the ability to stream Hulu directly from teh Internets onto your hungry little hard disk. Ah the joys of Ubuntu eh? Ubuntu. No, it’s not a new West African airline company. OK, so moving swiftly along. $299.99.

How do you find video to play on the Link? Well one way is to use the built-in Neuros TV software which allows you to type in the show you are looking to watch, then it instantly finds various places you can stream it from. The Link works great with shows from Hulu, NBC and most other streaming video sources. Of course you could also use the preloaded Bit Torrent client to ferret out your own videos if you roll like that. You could plug in an external hard drive loaded with ripped DVD VOB files, AVI movies etc. and play those directly… you’ve got options.
