New Carbon Capture Process Finds Funding – good news for reaching carbon goals

In order to get the climate numbers where we need them to you know, not die, scientists have said that not just making changes to our carbon output is needed but also carbon capture. To this end, Carbon Engineering has developed a process that is effective at removing carbon from the air.

The process involves complicated chemical reactions but will be able to pull the CO2 directly from the air. Once the air has been cleaned, the CO2 can be used in other processes or stored, depending on the needs of the company at the time.

They’ve received funding for this venture from oil companies which makes some worry that the same companies will use the technology to acquire more oil when they should be cutting back usage instead.
