Nextar 14-BC GPS and Backup Camera System – don’t get lost, but if you do reverse properly

The Nextar 14–BC GPS Navigation System with Backup Camera is one of the most inventive gadget combos we’ve seen for a long time. A full on GPS navigation system with MP3 player, SD memory card slot, 4.3 inch screen, 300 name address book plus a backup rear view camera to make sure you reverse safely. Clearly the makers of the GPS part of the bundle suspect you may need to back up a little after missing that right turn on Lexington. $499.95.

This GPS system provides an extra measure of safety by automatically activating a wireless rearview camera when your vehicle is shifted to reverse. The camera installs easily above the rear license plate and transmits a clear view of what’s behind your car on the 4.3″ color LCD30% larger than 3.5″ screens. In GPS mode, the unit delivers reliable navigation with pre-loaded 2D or 3D maps for all 50 states and Canada, as well as 1.6 million points of interest

  • I liked mine while it worked. 2 weeks after the 1 year warranty expired, it won't initialize and hangs up on the start screen. This unit is not on the exchange program, nor does there appear to be any repair options available. This seems to be the only GPS with the back up camera, something I used more than the GPS.
