Nuclear fusion is the stuff of science fiction but scientists are working hard to make it a reality. A joint force from around the world has banded together to create this promising form of renewable energy but even if they are successful, everyone is in agreement that solar and wind are still our best bet right now.
Nuclear fusion is the process that powers our sun and creates a great deal of energy. The concept is basically to mimic the gas giant here, on Earth, in a much, much smaller scale. The resulting power would be clean and allow energy for thousands of people.
The closest we’ve gotten so far is nuclear fusion which is expensive and creates huge amounts of radioactive waste so really not a great option despite the fact that it does not generate emissions. As exciting as this all is, it won’t be 2040 that we actually see results. But one day. . .
