odiogo – hear the web speak

Odiogo. Had a long chat with Marc Kawam, the CEO of this company, the other evening in town. Nice guy. I have to confess that I wasn’t really listening with all ears as he explained that his product lets you listen to RSS feeds on your iPod or other audio player. Ho hum. Then he handed over his phone to let me listen to a sample and wow, the audio quality of the ‘machine’ reader was superb, in places it sounded just like a real voice. Hmm…definitely a technology to watch…

Odiogo downloads your favorite RSS news and blog feeds and converts the text into spoken word—easily heard on your MP3 player, when and where you want. In other words, you can convert any RSS news and blog feed into a Podcast! Simply select your feeds, click start, and then drag and drop the audio files into your MP3 player. It’s that simple!

  • If you like that You should also have a peek at Talklets, from Textic. Also very good voice quality. Works with almost any webpage. It also offers RSS to podcast, and much more, including advanced accessibility options. Give It a whir.

  • Hmm…thanks Phil, I will. And I’ll report back when I get a moment. :-)
