Typing is a big part of our everyday lives. We use it for school, employment, and recreation. I didn’t learn typing until middle school, my kids had it as soon as they started elementary because it’s that ubiquitous now. The Orbitouch is a new way to handle this skill.

As common as typing is, there are a number of people who cannot do it. And not just because they don’t know their home keys. Typing requires pretty agile fingers and for people living with disability or injury, that simply may not be possible. Orbitouch turns the keyboard into two color-coded pads where users just slide the knobs to choose their keys.

The keyboard is broken into color groups and users just slide the knob to choose the correct group and the color of the key they want. For example, ‘A’ is red. They would slide the knob on the right to choose the group A is in, then slide the left knob to choose the red color. This may not be a great option for everyone, but it is an interesting accessibly option for those who need it. The Orbitouch is $399.
