Photosimile 5000 – world’s first office photography machine

The Photosimile 5000 is billed as the world’s first office photography machine, but they should also have tagged it the ‘most expensive’ light box in the universe. Sure it’s got cool remote PC controlled camera positioning in two axes, zoom and tilt, turntable, controllable lighting and cool software which will output Flash, 360 degree and watermarked images. But good grief, is that worth $18,999.00? Answers on a piece of white card with some string and halogen lights please. [Thanks Matthew]  …

Real-View 3D Scanner – scan your stuff in 3D

The Real-View 3D Scanner looks like fun. The website is very sparse, but it seems as though it comes with twin stereoscopic cameras and a small turntable. Stick your product on the turntable and swivel and voila, a 3D shot in all its glory. We just have to hope that the product is better than the pathetic website they’ve put up. No price as yet.  Real-View Corporation is proud to announce its first desktop 3D scanner. Derived from 3D image capture…

Music Center with Horn – retro speaker option panders to our deepest old maid mode

The Ion LP2CD Converter lets you transfer all your old Grateful Dead bootlegs directly onto CD without the need for any nasty computer type equipment getting in the way. Vinyl lives

The new Terratec PhonePreAmp iVinyl has a somewhat weird name. OK, it may be descriptive but it’s still a bit strange. But we’re not namophobes so we’ll move swiftly along and advise you to plug it into your computer’s USB port and record audio from a vinyl record player or cassette player to your hard disk. Turn tables.

The Marantz TT-15S1 turntable. The first platter from the company in 20 years. Does this mean that we’re about to see a massive return to vinyl? Or a seismic shift back to 8 track players? Answers on a $2000.00 bill please to…  Marantz explains that the TT-15S1’s asynchronous motor never makes contact with the chassis, ensuring “faultless signal input, with no transmission of vibration.” The acryl chassis has large aluminum feet for stability and damping.
