So you need an ultra lightweight laptop computer, but you also want a touchscreen tablet. And you don’t want it breaking on you, so you’d really like it ruggedized to make it tough and strong. Sounds like an impossible product to build, unless you’re one of the development team at Japanese giant Panasonic, because they’ve just released exactly the product you seek.
The brand new Panasonic Toughbook CF-AX2 Ultrabook Tablet Computer is a ruggedized Intel i5 processor powered Windows ultrabook computer with a 360 degree flip-over design, 10 finger capacitive touchscreen, eight hour run time and 76cm free-fall test resistance. It comes with 4GB of RAM, integral 720p HD camera, 128GB SSD solid state drive, HDMI out and a 3G SIM cellular network option.
It runs Windows 8 Pro (or you can have it shipped with Windows 7), weighs 1.15kg and will cost around £1331/€1648 when it goes on sale in Europe in January. So yes Marge, you can have it all.
