How often have you been in a hurry to get somewhere, only to arrive and find that there are no good parking spaces? How much would you pay to know that one was going to free up just down the block? I don’t think I would pay very much, but depending on the location, some people may be willing to fork out a good bit of money. That is why Parking Auction was created.
This web app is still in its infancy, but the idea is that when you find a good parking spot, you’ll login on your phone to register the space. Then, when you’re heading back to your car, you can start accepting bids. When you’ve selected a bid high enough, you’ll let the person know exactly where your car is located, and they can pull in just as you pull out. Of course, that requires the other driver to be on their phone while trying to drive, which doesn’t sound like a very good idea to me.
