Pay With a Tweet is billed as the first social payment system. Instead of selling something for cash, vendors can gain viral publicity by asking that people purchase their item for a tweet. In that way they can possibly gain extra publicity for the product and themselves.

Of course the small problem is that at the end of the day you can’t eat tweets, so no matter how viral your product goes, you’ll starve to death. But maybe it could be used effectively to promote your whole product range via one ‘giveaway’ so to speak.
