The mighty Dutch giant Philips has launched a new living room thingy called the iPronto. I say thingy, because it’s kind of hard to categorise. The $1699 iPronto TSi6400 is billed as a wireless home control panel, but it really seems to be more of a cross between a Web pad/tablet PC and TV remote control.

The idea of using the integral Internet browser to access an electronic program guide and stuff does sound cool though. [via digitlife]
