Piper – the machine that wants to put end to food poisoning

Piper read out

If you’re stateside, over the last few months you’ve probably noticed a rise in food recalls due to nasty things like “possible listeria contamination”. It’s 2016 and we still haven’t gotten a handle on making sure our food won’t make us violently ill. Ancera Inc is working on a new innovation titled Piper that will hopefully cut down on these occurrences.

Piper is small considering it’s used in industrial food prep, it’s only the size of a printer but it will be able to run tests that will give more precise results on what is lurking on the food meant for human consumption.

The idea that it will help test food for harmful biological microbes without the need for an extended testing period at an outside lab. Instead, food can be checked right in the factory with results coming out quickly in order to, hopefully, stop dangerous food from going out to consumers. Although not meant for consumers, this device will help consumers avoid food poisoning in the future!
