Pirit Utility Line Anti-Freeze Hose Pipe – heated hose stops winter dead

Antifreezehosepipe

The Pirit Utility Line Anti-Freeze Hose Pipe comes with a built in heating element and thermostat to stop water freezes wrecking your hose and your aspirations. $189.00 for 50 foot. Toasty.

The hose connects to your water line like any other garden hose; however it also has an electrical plug that can be connected to any outdoor rated GFCI outlet. Once plugged-in, a built-in thermostat is set to activate the heating element (copper wire) inside the hose line if the ambient temperature outside the hose is below 95° F and will turn off the heating element if the ambient temperature reaches above 105° F. It isn’t necessary to keep the electrical cord plugged in at all times, and ideally the cord and hose should be disconnected when not in use. However, Utility Line was specifically engineered to withstand the cold and even if hose is left to freeze with water inside, it will only take about five to ten minutes to thaw once plugged-in.

  • This sounds like a really cool garden equipment! Question: do you make a version for the United Kingdom, as the electric outlets are different here.
