Pixelkabinett – retro style for retro games

Pixelkabinett in use

When you’re a geek, you like to let that flag fly high. Somehow references to your favorite fandoms and interests just creep into your everyday life. There’s no shame in that. Sometimes it’s nice to have items in the home that can be passed off as “normal” until you want them to be otherwise. The Pixelkabinett is a coin-operated retro arcade that you can be hidden in your living room.

At first glance this lovely cabinet is just a nice, warm decoration. The wooden exterior painted a soft green and decorated with a very subtle planetarium on the front seems like a vintage 60s piece of furniture. Until you open it revealing the screen and it’s game on.

These lovely cabinets are made to order and can feature your choice if 8-bit game or can be fitted with a modern computer system and run them all. The cabinet is set up for two players so you can play by yourself or challenge your friends, just like when arcades were an actual thing. The Pixelkabinett is €3,699.
