PretonSaver is a freeware program designed to help you save ink when you use your inkjet printer. It works with any kind of output and is very easy to use. Just set up the level of saving you want with each type of print output (e.g. photos vs text documents).
From then on the program will automatically use your settings every time you print something. Of course there’s a trade-off, and that’s print quality. The higher the ink saving setting you use (max 70%) the worse the resolution of the output, and the biggest saving comes with removing images altogether from your printouts. But if you’re mainly doing scrappy type printing and don’t need luxury quality then this is a great way to save money on those expensive ink cartridges.
The free version requires registration in lieu of money for personal, non-commercial use, otherwise you’ll need to pay a $19.95 license fee for the Home Edition.
Adjust cost-saving levels for each print job between 0%-70% # Automatically omit pictures and graphics # Set your savings levels per format type (text vs. photo) # Dramatically reduces toner and ink usage # Provides up to 70% cost savings while maintaining print quality # Prints more than double the pages per ink or toner cartridge
