By now the whole universe, including those hapless folk out on Alpha Centauri, knows about Reddit, the amazing, sprawling, lawless heart of the Internet as we know it. But by just visiting the front page you miss out on so much of the true glory of the alien’s work for humanity.
There are countless sub-reddits which cover anything you can dream of, and Redditviz is an absolutely superb way to find new stuff and possibly waste 3.6 years in the process. The site basically offers a visual map of the subs, with hover over titles which intrigue and positively invite further investigation.
For instance it took me mere seconds to find a sub called Peoplewithbirdheads, which was the start of a surreal experience which still lingers in my sinuses.
The fact that each sub lurks on the page in a kind of galactic maelstrom only adds to the delight, as you find yourself sampling Shoegaze alongside BritishTV. The fact that many of these Reddit communities have relatively few subscribers only adds to the delight, since it feels like you are literally visiting the uncharted outer stretches of our Milky Way. Wonderful stuff, but do not visit this place unless you have time to spend/kill/waste/enjoy.
