Retro Thick Brick Cell Phone – this phone is just a phone, a very old one

You’ve probably heard someone say “I wish I could get a phone that was just a PHONE” after being forced into an upgrade at the mobile shop. Or maybe you’ve said that after your screen cracked again. Well you’re in luck. Go way back to the days before smartphones and all this connectivity with the Retro Thick Brick Cell Phone.

You may remember this iconic profile from the early 90s when the idea of cell phones was still new and they were the size of a house phone, but portable! No touch screen here, only real live buttons. Which also means texting might be a hassle. Actually, I’m not sure you can text on this.

The phone can be used as a speaker but it also works with all GSM networks around the world. So you could, if you wanted to, use this as your actual cell phone. It would probably be a hassle to carry around but maybe you like that weighted feel while you gab to your friends. The Retro Thick Brick Cell Phone is $52.90.

  • The Motorola Dyna-Tac 8900 was my FIRST cell phone.

    • The weird thing about this is that I can’t recall if I’ve ever actually seen one in the wild or if I just remember them from movies. You know what I do remember? We had a car phone. I don’t remember it ever being used but we had one!
