The Samsung SPH-P9000 handheld computer is a very cool looking piece of tech, with a spec to match. It comes with 1GHz CPU, Windows XP, 30GB hard disk, 256MB of RAM, 5 inch display, WiMAX, CDMA EV-DO, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Phew. And it weighs just 580g. The real doozy though is that fold out keyboard, which looks like it actually could do the business. No word on price, but this is one design experiment that looks very interesting indeed.
The SPH-P9000 comes with a QWERTY keyboard for painless typing and internet surfing, while the MP3 player function, VOD, and camera function provide a quick access to multimedia entertainment. I have been wanting a touch type keyboard computer that will fit in my jacket pocket for years and I hope this is available in the US!!! I am ready to buy one now! I hate and would never buy any thumb device! I am so glad companies are finally thinking outside the box. We need more US companies to start listening to users functionality needs and stop designing a slew of similar junk.
