Pockets are extremely useful but what if they could be even more convenient for our modern, everyday lives? I mean, the basic design is great and all but it can be better. Betabrand has proved this with their Sitting Pocket Sweatpants, the pants that improve on the pocket.
The short story here is that these are elastic waist sweatpants with the pockets sewn on backwards. Like, that’s the entirety of the innovation here which doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal but why did no one think of this sooner?
Seriously, it may look a little strange but it keeps things (like your phone) from slipping out of your pocket when you kneel down. That’s worth its weight in gold to be honest. Sure, you’ll have to “cross draw” to get your items from your pocket but it’s so much easier to reach them while you’re sitting down. As this photo indicates, this can really help with accessibility for our friends in wheelchairs. I’m not big on spending $79.20 for a pair of lounge pants, but the concept is still pretty great.
