Skin Deep – cosmetic safety database gives fair warning

Skindeep

Skin Deep is a cosmetic safety database which provides in-depth, and we mean depth, data on 42000 cosmetic products. Joe Jackson wrote a song which proclaimed that ‘everything gives you cancer’, and this site just about proves it. Personally we’ll never slap any mascara on our fingernails again.

Skin Deep pairs ingredients in more than 42,000 products against 50 definitive toxicity and regulatory databases, making it the largest integrated data resource of its kind. Why did a small nonprofit take on such a big project? Because the FDA doesn’t require companies to test their own products for safety.
