Skully P1 – The HUD Interactive Motorcycle Helmet

Skully P1 - The HUD Interactive Motorcycle Helmet

Motorcycle helmets are clearly designed to save lives, a nd they do it pretty well – many riders can affirm they’re still on the road because of them. However, the tech has not really progressed much over the past years, which means that your generic helmet generally won’t cope with Bluetooth, head up displays and the like.  The Reevu MSX1 was on step further along, since it gave users easy access to an internal rear-view mirror, but since then not much has really happened in the motorbike helmet world! Until now that is.

HUD Motorbike Helmet Skuppy P1 - Place And Receive Calls While Riding The Wind

The wait is over! Here’s where the Skully P1 comes into the game and pushes the boundaries further. The Skully Helmet features a HUD (heads-up display) used to display various pieces of information related to the trip and road conditions. You can follow GPS navigation indications, control your smartphone to play music,  answer, reject and place calls and even have access to a 180-degree view angle rear-view camera. The helmet features a 9 hours internal battery (charges via USB), connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and allows interactions via voice control.
The HUD is positioned around 18 feet (that’s about 6 meters) in front of the rider, thus eliminating the need to shift eyes from the road.

Other than the inclusion of the obvious high-tech features, the Skully helmet is lightweight, aerodynamic, features an anti-fog, anti-scratch and anti-glare face shield, a quick release chin strap and visor and, at last but not the least – it is DOT & ECE safety approved. Check it out and reserve one (available from 2014).
