Snap Clap – who needs a selfie remote control when you can just clap your hands? [Freeware]

Why is it that so many of those perfect #KodakMoments happen when you’re all alone, or even when you can take the shot but then you won’t be in it yourself? And how many more weird arm angles will you have to put up with in your photo memories? Eventually you start to look a little strange.  Snap Clap is here to help you solve that problem.

It’s a simple free app that lets you activate your phone’s camera shutter with a simple clap of your hands. Now there are lots of Bluetooth shutter release devices that do this kind of job, but not everyone is a cellphone photo-nut and wants to invest in yet something more to carry around. Which is where this software only solution comes in.

The app actually does more than just fire the shutter, and even then it doesn’t happen instantly, like the clapper for lights in the 90s (does anyone still have those?) but instead triggers a timer that you set up, so you have time to get into position with your friends and  take your picture standing at the edge of a cliff or enjoying the ice bucket challenge or whatever. You can even do some basic editing after you’re done. Snap Clap is a free app available in the App Store and through Google Play.
