Almost every child likes playing with a remote controlled car. Maybe it’s the wonder of being in control of something moving very fast, or perhaps it’s imagining that you’re driving a real car. Whatever the case, you put the remote in their hands, and a kid is going to have a blast. As the parent, however, the toy can be a real drain. Mostly on your wallet, due to the batteries the car eats up.
If you’re looking for an R/C car that doesn’t eat batteries for dinner, you might check out the Solar Rechargeable RC Car. With a solar panel built into the roof, you need only leave this car in the sun, and both it and the remote will get a charge. Unfortunately it will only run for a maximum of 15 minutes (which takes 2 hours of sunlight). Don’t worry though, most children have a short enough attention span that they’ll get bored by the time it needs more juice. If you don’t have enough sunlight, you can always plug it into your computer and power it up via USB. At around $30, I’d say this isn’t a bad deal.
