Solarball uses sunlight to purify water

For anyone who lives a little ways out from normal society, water purity can be an issue. You dont know what people upstream have done to the water that is just now getting to you. If you want to purify your water without having to purchase a huge filtration system that needs a new filter constantly, you might want to look into the Solarball.

This simple plastic ball can purify about 3 quarts of water a day with ample amounts of sunlight. This isnt a huge amount of water, but if youre on a camping trip of some sort, thats not too bad. The intended purpose for the creation of this water-cleansing ball is to help out people who have no access to clean water. The problem with that is if an entire village is relying on these little spheres to provide their water, 3 quarts apiece is not going to be enough. With a little bit more tweaking, this could actually be a really useful tool and help a lot of people, but right now it’s a bit impractical.
