Spoiler Alert – keep track of your freezer food and eat safely

SpoilerAlert

Leaving your house for a day or two and coming back just to find that your freezer door has been opened the whole time, or maybe, there was a power outage in your area can be a little unsettling. How are you supposed to tell if the food in their freezer is OK to eat or not?  Well, instead of tasting and smelling everything to see if it’s edible, there’s now a small gadget which can do the monitoring for you.

The Spoiler Alert simply tells you if the food in your freezer is spoiled or not. You don’t have to worry anymore because this simple little block of liquid will notify you when there’s something wrong with your food. Just shake it, place it upside down on a freezer shelf for 48 hours, then turn it right way up and it’s set to monitor in case there’s a melt down event in your house.

The science behind this food monitor is simple. If you get a problem take it out and look at the colored liquid which melts. If the blue color melts, it means your food is OK for the next 14 days, green for 3, yellow for 1, and red means it’s already spoiled, so throw it out. The Spoiler Alert is available for $12.99 via The Container Store. Try your nearest store if it’s out of stock online.
