Automation is probably coming to take your job. It’s coming for all of our jobs. If you happen to work in a restaurant, it might be coming sooner than you think. Spyce is the real world restaurant where robots make your food, fresh to order.

It’s really a neat system, the foods are all mixed bowl type entrees and are cooked in about three minutes. The robots us a tumbling, induction heating technique. People order from a touch screen, the robot mixes and cooks the food, and condiments are added by a human server.

There’s an executive chef in charge of all the menu and flavors but the person who is actually cooking isn’t a person at all. The price point for the food is really low, probably because they don’t have to pay as many staff and there’s less waste because robots are really efficient.
