Stargate control.

JDSStargate2

The JDS Stargate. Described as an ‘intelligent controller’, this thing looks like it could control a full blown moon lander, let alone your home automation rig. The neat thing is that once it’s installed you can control any X10 appliance using a Web enabled computer anywhere in the world. Man, we would so like to turn on the toaster from Shanghai and freak out the cat. $999.99.

Using a powerful Ethernet interface, the JDS StarGate IP lets you control anything in your home from any Internet-accessible computer in the world. Forgot to arm your alarm system before leaving? Just log on, and your security system will go into armed mode. Need to go out of town unexpectedly? Set your automated lights to vacation mode from your work computer.

  • Ah Rick, that’s where you fell into my fiendishly cunning trap to reveal all about these ‘better qualified and even more impressive competitors’. Spill beans! :-)

  • yeah! what else is new on the DIY market?
