StickPic – self portrait improvement on a stick

Image

The StickPic is an attachment for walking poles that gets your camera out of arm’s reach for more impressive shots of yourself, and yourself+others. Sure GorillaPods are cool, but they’re a one-trick pony and they’re just more weight that you don’t need to carry. The StickPic weighs nothing (well 10 grams) and attaches to the tripod socket on any point-and-shoot camera.

You can then push it onto the spiked end of your walking pole (it doesn’t say anything about ski stocks). Perfect for hard core hikers or people who aren’t so hard core but don’t want to lug extra junk around. Don’t forget to tie off the camera for safety! $US11.99 + $US2.80 shipping, oh and they do custom orders if you need.

The tips of all trekking poles are tapered which makes it easy to slide the StickPic on and off with a twisting motion/ Fits all cameras with a tripod socket pic/Works with cameras with a self timer/Fits most trekking poles and walking sticks/Weighs only 10.8 grams.

  • Whoa, that's pretty cool. Will it work with umbrellas too? :)

  • I don't see why not, I didn't even think of umbrellas. The problem as I see it is you'll look like Mary Poppins in every shot.

Not that there's anything wrong with Julie Andrews of course.
