Stretch Earzee Bluetooth Wristband – talk to the wrist ‘cos the ears ain’t glistening…

The improbably named Stretch Earzee Bluetooth Wristband sounds like a perfect way to stay safe while using your mobile phone. Just strap it to your wrist, pair it to your handset, and when a call comes in activate the mic by pulling it over your finger and talk into it to take the call. No more radiation beamed into the lug-holes.

Um…look, if the idea of talking into your hand like a crazed Inspector Gadget doesn’t appeal, then this might not be the perfect gadget for you, OK? Better sticking with a conventional Jabra thing stuck in the ear. For the rest of us, it’s time to break out the grey raincoat and shabby trilby hat. £19.99.

Just pair the Stretch Earzee to your mobile phone and then you can leave your phone in your back pocket or even a bag (up to 10m away) and wear the Stretch on your wrist. You are alerted to any incoming calls via the vibra pad located on the wrist, so to answer any calls just put the earphone between two fingers and place near your ear. You can now talk handsfree!

  • I had this thought years ago, but never did anything about it.

My thought was that the bluetooth bit would either be a watch strap (so you can connect it to your watch instead of wearing a 2nd bracelet) or connect to a strap (don't need to take your watch off to charge it).

Other ways it differed – to answer, you'd pull the earpiece from the module from a retractable cable (like the old hoovers!) and 'pop' it on your finger (it would have a hook or mini thimble type thing). Talk into your wrist and listen through your finger. To hang-up, unhook the earpiece off you finger and the cable would retract and hang-up.

It would vibrate when ringing and when you go out of range of the phone.

Posh models (in my little fantasy world) would have display to get caller ID and scrolling SMSs on.

  • I seems like an eternity since the CTIA Fall 2010 when we first showed the prototypes for this exciting Earzee product range to the world.

We now have product and a Website to get this product out there. or
