Stuff2Send – world’s first P2P parcel courier service

Stuff2Send has got to be one of the most interesting if not totally bizarre ideas around. Basically it’s a peer to peer parcel courier service. People register with the site if they need parcels delivered or are willing to deliver parcels and the service matches them up. Hey, I can hear you asking, what guarantee that the parcel doesn’t just get stolen? Well…that’s a very good question children, and the site has a bunch of safeguards in place, including feedback ratings and criminal record checks, to try and ensure security of your chattels.

You know what? I kinda like the idea. It’s wacky sure, but anything that encourages free trade between individuals in these economic times gets our vote. And we love the idea that our battered Xbox delivery to eBay could be done by an ex investment banker in his Masserati.

It’s free to send stuff, but carriers have to pay a membership fee of £10–£15 a year. puts people who need stuff taken anywhere in the UK in touch with people who plan to be driving there anyway. 1. Every day millions of UK motorists with cars, taxis, vans and trucks drive all over the country with empty space in their vehicles. 2. Thousands of others – at home or in offices – have stuff to send like parcels, furniture, removals…even themselves 3. Stuff2Send connects the two. For a negotiated fee, let those driving somewhere take stuff you need to send there.

What items can I upload? Anything – it could be a parcel, a student move, something sold at an online auction, a complete house move, garden rubbish, boxes, crates…….even yourself. As we grow and get more carriers on board, and more specialist carriers, this list will just grow even wider. And on big items that you feel you can’t sell with online auctions because it’s “pick up only”, well now you probably can.

  • I don't know Nigel. I just heard someone being interviewed on the Steve Wright programme.

  • Heard who? :-)

  • This sounds to me like a brilliant idea. I regularly travel from Mid Bedfordshire, (twice, three times a week in my job), as far north as Derby, the south coast, east coast, as far west as Bristol and sometimes farther afield. Anything that saves on unnecessary journeys and saves fuel must be good. I heard you on Radio 2 yesterday.

  • Forget stuff2send, they leave the payments down to the sender and the courier. If someone was to make off with the good(s) how would you know who that person was/is??? not only offer a much better service totally FREE, but have the sender make a 10% deposit via Paypal for security. The site is much better and FREE, what more can you ask for?

  • I went through this another brilliant idea, ! Looks promising
