Sumo – the mono-material diaper

Disposable diapers are not great for the environment which is why many families have gone to cloth (they’re also cheaper in the long run). There’s a new nappy coming to the market with the Sumo, the cloth diaper made from SeaCell.

SeaCell is a material made from eucalyptus and algae. Sounds like it would be. . . unattractive and uncomfortable but the final product is soft and a pleasing off white color. It is also antibacterial and smooth to the touch.

The diaper can be washed and used a number of times, just like any other cloth diaper. It is designed in such a way that you tie it around the baby so there’s no need for pins, Velcro, snaps, etc. Overall, a very attractive diaper.
