Swimmer’s Treadmill is a mini pool that gives you a full workout

It’s really hard to find enough space for a backyard pool, and it’s even harder to find enough money to pay for one. Swimming is such good exercise that most of us would likely do it every day if we had the opportunity. If you would like a cheaper route to a typical aquatic workout, you might look at the Swimmer’s Treadmill.

This 65 square foot pool is compact enough to fit in a garage, backyard, or basements if they’re big enough. It gives you all of the workout, without all of the impact on your joints. A harness wraps around your waist to keep you in place so you can swim laps for as long as you like. Well, it will hold you in place so long as your waist is no smaller than 22 and no larger than 42. Its flexible elastic tether is partially what will keep you suspended in the water, and will give you different levels of resistance. The good news is that you can choose between chlorinated, fresh, or saltwater, and need no plumbing, electrical work, or special tools to get this thing to function. However, the bad news is that it will take 1,500 gallons of water to fill this 4.5 foot tall pool, and comes at a price of $1,400

  • All tethered up and no where to go. Looks like he's ready for one of those Immodium commercials.

    • Dunno about you, but I'd be constantly worrying about someone walking past with a pin. :P
