If you are, or know someone who is disabled and has to be in a wheelchair, you know that life can oftentimes be difficult. Moving on paved areas is easy of course, as your wheels and their tread will have no problem rolling along. If you should want to venture out onto the vast scape of dirt, snow, sand, clay, etc. that is beyond the concrete path, things may become a little bit more complicated.
Creator of the Action Trackchair, Tim Swenson had been in the motor sports business for decades, and was likely influenced to build this awesome machine to help his son and others like him to have more mobility. Instead of having wheels, this chairs scoots around on motorized treads that can go up to 5mph. There are all sorts of accessories that come along with it, but I’m just not sure if that makes the $9,000 price a feasible one. Their slogan is “Helping the disabled to be enabled.” While I believe that this is definitely their aim, there are very few who are disabled that are going to be able to afford this.
