The Aleutia D1 – Ultraquiet, dual Atom PC

Aleutia D1

When it comes to compact, low power PCs, the Aleutia D1 Mini Atom PC leads the way. Just 20 cm (7.9 inches) across, 7.4 cm (2.9 inches) tall, and 30.5 cm (12 inches) deep, the D1 sports dual 1.66 GHz Intel Atom CPUs, 4GB RAM, and Gigabit LAN. It has no moving parts (apart from the DVD drive) and it runs almost totally silent. It comes with a choice of 40GB HDD, 32GB HDD or 40 GB SSD and is available with 2GB or 4GB of RAM

Aleutia D1

Available with 2GB or 4GB or RAM it’s less than half the size of other SFF PCs (Small Form Factor Personal Computers) and it’s been tested to be fully compatible with Microsoft operating systems (from Windows XP to Windows 7). Add to that its 20W power consumption (25% of other SFF PC’s), it produces less heat than other PC’s. Small, lightweight, fast and it costs 249 ($379). Sounds like the perfect home theatre PC.

The D1 is 67% smaller than a Small Form Factor (SFF) PC from Fujitsu Siemens, HP, or Dell and a fraction of the weight (1.4 kg versus 8kg on average). It’s passively cooled so there are no noisy fans. With the SSD option there are no moving parts and complete (0dB) silence. The hard drives are selected for quietness and are not audible in an office environment.
