Getting from point A to point B isn’t always easy. That’s why on-board navigation systems are so popular. But if you want to be fuel efficient and get there easily, there’s an app for that called EcoSpeed. Based on a decade of driving research, EcoSpeed was designed to help save money and create better driving habits that are more fuel efficient.
Created by Clarian Labs, a Seattle, Washington technology incubator, this fascinating mobile application lets you plot a direct route via Google Maps that’s energy efficient in terms of gas consumption and avoiding traffic stops but may be slightly longer.
A second aspect of this app kicks in while you’re driving. It helps you drive at an optimal speed that can save you up to 30 percent off your fuel bills with its turn-by-turn directions.
Clarian plans to release Android and iPhone versions just in time for SXSW this March. Sounds like this could be another cool useful app to have!
