After watching in astonishment the unprecedented amount of hype accorded to Twitter – gee guys it’s just a fancy form of broadcast SMS ain’t it? – we’ve succumbed and signed up for a Red Ferret service. Here’s the link to subscribe to our Tweets (yuck!) so knock yourself out (there’s also a permanent link on the top right sidebar). Sometimes it’s hard to be a muppet y’know. Sigh!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Fight it Nige, fight it!!!
Man I tried to Dan, God knows I tried. They were too tough for me to beat. They just kept coming, it was a wave…a wave I tell you. Sob!
I wish you guys had fought it, I really do. We just had a raging debate over the service on our blog last week, I think my side (anti-twitter) is winning so far.
To be honest the battle’s not nearly over yet, Andy. :-) So far I’m super un-impressed. I reckon this is nothing more than a Silicon Valley flash in the pan… but for the sake of good research we’ll keep tracking it.
you might enjoy the analysis of twitter over on our site then. here.
You mean here. :-)
“…the staggering burden of information overload..” that you mention really sums it up for me Andy, and is a perfect phrase to encapsulate the problem with Twitter, and all these other attempts at faux communication.
…So there ya go- basically I hate web 2.0″ aps that discourage real communication by making lazy, dispassionate, unnecessary communication easier and more appealing. Perfect again.
Yeah- not sure how that url got so garbled! I figured, based on your usual posts and the tone of this one, that you’d fall on my side of this fence; glad to see I was right :) Let me know how twitter treats ya.
