It’s no longer news we’re heading to a world where wearable technology will replace classic gadgets (take for example the Nissan Nismo Smartwatch or the Wime Smart Phone Wristwatch we featured earlier – both designed to bring added value to users by offering extra features without the hassle of crowding your pockets with another gadget).
The O.R.B is another cool wearable gadget. Wear it as a ring to easily get all your smartphone notifications without having to pull your phone out of your pocket every other minute and, when you receive a call, simply twist it, place it on your ear and pick up that call. Yep you read that right – the O.R.B. is not only a piece of cool wearable gadgetry but also doubles as a Bluetooth headset allowing your to comfortably wear it only when you’re actually on a call.
On the technical side the O.R.B features an E-Ink display, connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth, displays notifications such as text messages, meeting reminders, caller ID and, when used as a wireless headset, uses bone conduction audio transmission to avoid the discomfort of placing a device inside the ear.
The O.R.B Ring is in a concept stage at the moment, but the manufacturer promises a variety of sizes and styles for both men and women when it’s eventually released on the market.
