If you have the ear for it, you can tell when music has real or fake strings. While there’s nothing wrong with using an electronic keyboard, you really can’t beat the authentic sounds of a bow against a string. Needless to say, it’s not always easy to get a hold of an entire orchestra at a moments notice. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just sit down in front of an instrument, and get all the rich sounds of strings?
The Wheelharp puts all of the commonly used stringed instruments at your fingertips. This contraption has a spinning rosined edge that will bow any string that comes in contact with it. Simply play it as if it were a piano! The right pedal controls the speed, and the left one is your damper. Currently it’s still in the research phase, which is also a crowdfunding phase, but it will retail for $12,500 when/if it hits the market.
