Three Websites That Offer Free Fonts [FREEWARE]

Red Ferret in cats

If you’ve ever been called upon to make a flyer or invitations, you’ve likely been put off by the available font choices but you’ve done the best you could. To help you do better next time, here are three sites to get free fonts from.

An important note, however, pay attention to the licenses on these fonts. Some will be available for commercial and personal use while others are just for personal use. Personal use means that you can use them for your own personal projects. Commercial means that you can use them for money making ventures. Please respect the designers.

1. Dafont

This is one of the largest websites and has a huge selection. Some of them are quite silly and basically just different types of Wingdings. Others are script, horror, and even cartoons. This is an easy place to find a lot of fonts to spice up a project.

2. FontSpace

Another website featuring a large amount of fonts. The setup of the site is a bit cleaner and modern looking. There’s likely some overlap between the two sites so really, either one is a matter of preference.

3. Behance

This is a design portfolio site but it does have a number of free fonts. Unlike the first two sites, these aren’t organized by type. These fonts are posted by the designers themselves so really, it’s a place to find unique fonts that not everyone is aware of. Make your project unique.

Bonus: Neko Font

This font serves no purpose but it’s fun to write in cats. Give it a whirl. You can make your own kitty banner like the one above.
