Have you ever just wanted your computer screen to be a touch screen? But you don’t want to spend all that money on an actual touch screen monitor or tablet? Ractiv has the answer in the form of the Touch+, the gadget that converts any screen into a touch screen.
The Touch+ clips onto your existing monitor or sits on a flat surface and tracks your fingers using cameras, and so lets you actually use your fingers to interact with your machine. Not exactly a touch screen in a physical sense, more of a gesture tracker that allows users to turn a surface (keyboard, table, etc) into a sort of map of the screen.
The product is Windows and OSX compatible and connects via USB 2.0. According to the site, you can also connect via 3.0, and there are some beta functions that you can test out, however, it seems like if you just want it to, you know, work, then 2.0 is the way to go. It’s plug and play but there are some extensions that you can download for more functionality. The Touch+ is $74.99 and ships at the end of this month.
