UltraBoost Uncaged Parley – these sneakers are made out of trash

ultraboost-uncaged-parley

There’s a lot of trash in the ocean and just removing it is only part of the problem. We still have to do something with it. Why not make sneakers? Adidas has partnering with Parley for the Oceans to turn old plastic into attractive footwear. The UltraBOOST Uncaged Parley is a sneaker made from waste that was pulled from the oceans.

Each pair is lined with thread to create a unique look. That thread? It was once plastic waste from the ocean, more specifically, bottles. There were refashioned into thread and then used to create a sleek and attractive sneaker.

These shoes won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, they are $220 a pair! Still, this does give a new idea of what we can do with the mountains of plastic waste that we produce so that it doesn’t end up in our oceans or landfills. Remember, reusing is one of the three R’s that will help keep our planet clean. You can learn more about these kicks on their website.
