More information has been released on the T919 smart phone from Austrian company Tel.Me. The phone is due to be released in October for around 529.00, and will be based around a proprietary operating system rather than Symbian. There are some interesting differences between this handset and the SonyEricsson P800.
T919: No Bluetooth, smaller screen than P800 (256×128 vs 208×320) and only dual band not tri-band as with the P800.The camera resolution is also lower at just 352 x 288 vs the VGA 640×480 of the SonyE.
But on the other hand, it does have: MP3 player built in (sorry I was mis-informed earlier, the P800 will only come with a video player as standard as far as I know at the moment), plus an MMC card slot capable of taking internal memory up to 128MB from the standard 14MB. It also sports a dual mode landscape/portrait screen feature, which should go some way towards making the smaller screen more useable for things like email and photo.
It’s going to be an interesting end of year. (PDF press release here).
