UpRight Sleeper – the ultimate snooze fool tool?

Sometimes inventions, no matter how good they are or how useful, leave one a little breathless with surprise. It may be because they’re expensive, weird, or because they’re tackling a problem you didn’t know even existed. Well we’ve found one that seems to be none of the above, although it certainly looks like it’ll raise eyebrows wherever it’s used.

The UpRight Sleeper is a new invention which lets you sleep while sitting upright in a chair. Hence the name, geddit? Now that’s a worthy goal no question, it’s just that we’re wondering who would ever have the courage to whip one of these out on the train, bus or plane and actually risk the sniggers from fellow travelers?

As if the bare frame device isn’t bad enough, there’s a cover available in a variety of colors which makes the whole contraption seem even more weird. Like you’ve got some sort of throat disease in fact. Ho hum! We’re trying to be charitable here, and maybe the whole thing is incredibly comfortable and the perfect solution for tired bodies, but wow, that design.

It’s priced at $39.99 without the cover and $46.99 with a delicious cover and tote bag included.

  • Stick a fake beard cover on that bad boy and you've got a winner!!!!

    • Brilliant! That's EXACTLY what it needs. :)

  • Hi folks,I invented the Uprightsleeper.Your comments are so so funny , I was actually laughing out myself and I really mean this but guess what it works! I think its funnier when people bob & weave like they are in a boxing match.I will present the Uprightsleeper ll in about 4 weeks, I hope you'll like this one too. It looks more….pillow-y . Thanks, Joe

  • I think there's some potential for a Star Wars crossover as well, :)

    • The force is strong with this idea…

  • Hmmm? A Neck Pillow is cheaper and more comfortable…

    • No its not more comfortable! Try an Uprightsleeper first and then you can compare, its like me saying a Yugo is more comfortable to drive than a Rolls Royce and I've never driver either one of them. Either you buy an Uprightsleeper and actually sleep perfectly aligned and comfortable or you buy a U shaped pillow and not sleep comfortably…your choice. Don't knock it until you try it duh!
