Cloudmark, the company which created the P2P SpamNet community which uses ‘neighbourhood watch’ type tactics to identify and reject email spam, has just launched a free add-on service to combat online fraud. SpamNet subscribers – nearly a million of them – can now apparently rest easy knowing that they will avoid those nasty phishing messages about fake eBay, Citibank and Paypal account problems et al. Available for a $3.99 a month subscription fee.
