This W PhoneWatch is a pretty impressive piece of kit. It’s not much bigger than a conventional wristwatch, but crams in a quad band mobile phone, a VGA camera, MP3 player and…um…a timepiece. There’s a microSD slot which supports up to 2 GB in data storage, a colour touchscreen and a Bluetooth headset to provide hands-free calling. Have they missed anything? Probably not. $199.99. Nice Nice review at CrunchGear.

The integrated video camera captures video in MPEG 4 (AVI) format at a resolution of 128 x 104. Why all the extra wear? Why a videoplayer, mp3 player, maybe also PIM, why the microsdslot (of course for the stupid vga player). Why all that load on the battery?
I wished they'd build these things without that multimedia hypeshit. Just make that thing a bluetooth quad phone and a watch, nothing else. But alas, they must serve the funkycoolshiny craze that Apple generated, and of course they must serve their shareholders. Damn capitalism, it makes things (and gadgets) full of half baked nonsense to show of, restricting development of useful and pure stuff. < / rant>…
