Why look at the road when you can stare at your tablet while driving?

There are a lot of things to distract a person while driving. There’s a whole world outside your car to look at, passengers to talk to, knobs and buttons to fiddle with, and so much more. Thankfully there are companies out there that are hard at work finding ways to distract you even further. The latest product in the fight against focused driving is the Satechi SCH-121 Cup Holder Mount.

This wonderful device will take any tablet or smartphone and position it several inches above your cupholder. This is almost always a perfect position to keep a touchscreen device, as it’s just low enough that you have to look roughly 45-degrees down. This will take your eyes completely off of the road for several seconds each time you need to check your email, or launch a feathered friend in Angry Birds. Using this will no doubt increase the amount of time spent looking away from the road several times over. In no time at all, you’ll find your front bumper gently nestled into a tree, or the rear bumper of the car in front of you. It’s a steal at the price of $30, and fits virtually any tablet or smartphone.

  • There is currently work being done on a great device, that will scramble a signal and make using any cell phone, inside an automobile, virtually impossible.Let's pray that it hits the market soon and that it will also destroy the operation of all items, such as net/notebooks as well!

  • Do you mean an electromagnetic pulse? An EMP pulse will also render the car useless/inoperable… :p
Disabling a cellphone/radio's signal won't stop morons from using gadgets while driving. The iPad for instance works perfectly fine without a cellphone signal…

  • As a person who was recently rear-ended while stopped in traffice, on the interstate, by a young woman looking down at her iPhone's GPS app on her lap, I can't even begin to tell you how worrisome the concept of mounting an iPad in a car is to me. . .
