With climate change steadily melting glaciers, ski resorts around the world are facing dramatically decreased snow packs and huge loss of revenue. But Swedish architectural firm C. F. Møller will create a unique alternative –Skipark 360°, the world’s largest indoor ski resort!

The ski park will feature the only indoor ski slope to meet the requirements for hosting the World Cup – an impressive 700 meters (2,297 feet) long and with a drop of 160 meters (525 feet) and a height close to 135 meters (443 feet). If you’ve seen recent photographs of the Swiss and Italian Alps, you’ll understand the appeal that this kind of almost-too-fantastic-for-words creation holds for ski enthusiasts.

The resort, which will begin construction in a forest in Balasta, 45 minutes outside Stockholm in 2013, will also include 3.5-kilometer (2.2-mile) cross country skiing tunnel, arenas for biathlons, ice hockey, bandy and figure skating. a snowboarding snow park. restaurants, shops, a spa, hotel and conference facilities with panoramic views. And if all this wasn’t enough, the architects also plan to make the resort green, incorporating the use of renewable energy from sources including geothermal heating, solar, wind and hydro power.
